Unwind with one of our made-to-order espresso drinks or a delicious hot cup of coffee. Relax with a fresh-from-the-oven breakfast frittata or a giant muffin with one of our specially blended flavored butters. Catch up with the day’s events while you read your favorite online newspaper using our free Wi-Fi.
Our garden-inspired setting will be a welcome respite from the cold, blustery winters Wisconsin is known for, with hearty home-made soups, sandwiches paired with our famous deviled egg, and a side dish of pasta salad, fruit cup or baked chips. Enjoy a "Grow Your Own Secret Garden Salad" by selecting fresh salad additions that you choose!

The Secret Garden is a gallery as much as it is a cafe. Kenosha is home to a very active arts community, and we support our local artists by displaying and selling their works displayed in our cafe gallery at no cost to them. When you visit The Garden, you'll find artwork by more than 20 local artists...but first you'll walk through our gift shop, where we sell hand made crafts on consignment for a number of our local artisans and crafters. Browse the art, enjoy the monthly featured artist exhibit, and then wander to to the back of The Secret Garden. You'll find yourself in studio of our own HairLess Potter, where he can sometimes be found making pottery for use in the cafe or for sale in the gift shop. Spend a few minutes talking to him and learning about how he turns clay into pieces designed to be enjoyed for many years.
Check our Facebook site for information on special events...occasionally we sponsor acoustic music nights to give young local musicians a place to strut their stuff, or poetry slams for those who like a nice, quiet evening of poetry, pastries, and a cup of tea or coffee.
At The Secret Garden Cafe and Gallery, freshness is important to us, because we know it's important to you. The eggs we use in our frittata and strata are less than a week old and we shop for our produce every one or two days. Our organic portobello mushrooms are grown at River Valley Ranch in Kenosha County and delivered fresh weekly. Coffee? Our local roaster monitors our usage weekly, bringing us only a week's worth of coffee at a time, delivering it the same day it's roasted! Little wonder that two of our visitors from Australia said that our coffee was the best they'd had since they came to the U.S., or that our coffee connoiseurs have declared our espresso to be the finest in Kenosha!
The Secret Garden Cafe and Gallery will be turned over to a new owner on January 15 and our last business day will be Saturday, January 12. The new owner will reopen on January 16, and he intends to operate a quality establishment that will continue to be a unique asset to downtown Kenosha. We will still be seeing you all from time to time, as we intend to be regular customers ourselves!
